I’ve heard about ionic tourmaline, ionic ceramic, but regardless of the price, what’s the best?

    chi iron…$129.00

    the chi

but if you cant spend that money get something that is made of ceramic and make sure it is at least 2 inches thick, its better for thicker or harder to straighten hair.

I would have to also say definitely the Chi. I paid $117 for mine– trust me, it’s worth it. Don’t "invest" in any crap at Walmart cause they’ll be a waste of money! I know cause I did that hehe.

i absolutely agree with the CHI ceramic iron!! its the best. its worth the money especially for curly hair. the tourmaline is alright but does not compare to the CHI.

Vidal Sassoon has a ceramic flat iron that only costs $20-$25 at Wal-Mart. My daughter’s hair is very kinky (not ethnic) making it very hard to manage. It does wonders with her hair. Whatever brand you decide on make sure it’s ceramic. We also use Sleek Look by Matrix every time we straighten her hair. It helps protect hair from the heat. I buy it at the beauty salon.

Anyways, I have had a flat iron that is made by Kenta, which you can get on the internet for about 120.00. Ive had it for 2 1/2 years now and it works great. I have naturally curly hair and it takes me about 15 min every day to straighten it. It works great! And its lasted this long! Ive tried so many of the "Hot Tools" brand and they always ended up dying 3 months later. I’ve never tried the "Chi" though. Good luck! Ceramic is the best because it spreads the heat out evenly and distributes the heat evenly.

Chi irons are awesome! Although, hot out of the supply houses is a new flat iron that is tourmaline that you can use on DAMP hair and IT IS INCREDIBLE! Our salesman left one at the salon for us to play with, and WOW! ALL the stylists are wanting one. The ionic Tourmaline is (from what I was told) the next generation. The benefits of ceramic, but better. I’m not sure what these new wet/dry tourmaline flat irons will retail for, but I’m guessing it will be at least $200 or more. They really are nice ladies!

CHI Iron, i have used it for 1 year and it is the best.
    It worth to pay.

  9. not what we agreed says:

CHI definatly! The CHI has an compleatly different type of heat. What it does is absorbs the moisture from the inside out instead of steaming it out which is what most irons do. The CHI is compleatly ceramic which is along with the different type of heat is gentle on your hair unlike the ceramic coated or plated. The CHI doesnt normally have heat settings but gets to some odd 375 degrees or around there but is a conrolled heat so is probably the least damaging to the hair. colored or not. all around with great professional products especially a great conditioner (biologe ULTRA hydrating conditioner) will be the #1 best selling and highest recmommended flat iron to purchase.

** A plus for your thick curly hair is that CHI’s have different sizes for you to choose from to cut back on time

I have the Chi flatiron, as well as the Sedu. You can purchase them both at folica.com. Its a little cheaper than than if you get it at a salon, but still pricey. (About $100). I have tried many other cheaper flat irons and these 2 are definitely the best, and well worth the money. I prefer the Sedu slightly more than the Chi, because even though they both straighten very good and quickly, the Sedu gives more of a shiny and silky finish. I have frizzy and somewhat wavy hair, so I am so thankful for the Sedu!
